In our world today, we are facing some troubling times, toxic politics and threatening environmental issues. When we watch the news, these issues can make us angry and frustrated, and we may feel we have little or no control over them.
I discovered that although I alone, could not do much about those issues, I could stop them from disturbing me, making me angry, fearful, and frustrated. I found that these feelings were contributing to the problem, as they were going out into the collective consciousness. I will talk more about that below.
Let me first address how I stopped the emotions from taking control of me. First off, I knew I could not watch the news non-stop; I did not need all the details of every issue. I had to keep up on national and international news, as I knew it was important to know what was going on. I could not ignore, condone or accept bad behavior in the world, but for the most part, it was out of my control, but I could pray about it, and try to see it from a divine point of view. That would put more of God in the collective consciousness.
I found a source of news that was unbiased and read the headlines, not the details, once a day. That alone helps stop all the emotional responses. Now I know what the issues are and can focus my prayers on them, not the people involved. When I get too involved with who is doing what, I start seeing them as the enemy, and even evil at times. They are not the enemy; they are just people with differing opinions, though some seem to have evil intent.
Now, I had to take that one step further. Who are these people with differing opinions? They are God’s children just like me. Spiritually as God’s image and likeness, we cannot make bad choices. We are a reflection of Love and can only choose those things that are good for all mankind. Although humanly, in my opinion, some individuals are making bad choices, and that is what can make me angry. Take the human picture out of the equation, and the anger dissolves. When we separate the person from the issue, we have reached a point where we can work on a solution. It would be wonderful if everyone could do that, what a change it would make in debates, discussions of all kinds, political decision, etc. There would be no more, finger-pointing.
Now, let me see if I can get into the issue of environment, without scaring you all off. 🙂 Yes, there are human footsteps we can take to correct some of the issues, but the problem is much bigger. Jesus handled environmental issues once with three words. With “Peace be still” he calmed the storm. Jesus defied many laws of physics, as they do not apply to God’s creation, the only creation he knew. Though he walked in the flesh, he lived in the Spirit, as we all do, but he was undoubtedly better at it.
Let us look at bad weather. Our environment is a manifestation of collective, universal consciousness — our collective thought. Our climate and atmosphere seem to be getting progressively worse. What does this say of our collective consciousness? I would say it is overloaded with chaotic thought, anger, fear, hate, etc. Many good people have faith in God and his goodness, but in this material world, the majority, rules. Although protection from the bad choices of the majority is possible, that does not mean, some of us might not suffer from those choices. The Bible gives us many examples of both scenarios.
Over the years, many good Christians and Jews suffered terrible deaths because of their faith. When it comes to God’s protection, it is not for us to outline how it will manifest in the material world we have created. His spiritual children are always protected, and in His care, but in this material world, we may be caught up in the wave of bad decisions. However, we can elevate our consciousness to the level of spiritual perception, and at that point, we are safe like Daniel was in the lion’s den, although it is not easy. It takes complete trust and a faith beyond what most can imagine, topped with understanding.
Because Darius, in Daniel 6: 1-23, favored Daniel, the other presidents and princes were jealous and devised a plan to get rid of Daniel. Although not protected from being thrown into the lion’s den, he was however safeguarded from harm, as God shut the mouths of the lions.
Two things protected Daniel. 1. After being tricked into this devious plan, Darius had to stand by what he had signed into law. Realizing what he had done, he said to Daniel, “Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.” He did not say how, but he had faith that Daniel’s God would protect him. Darius fasted all night in quiet communion with God. 2. Daniel had no fear; he trusted God and understood who he was as God’s child, and this protected him.
We need to put God back in control and get our thoughts in the right place, then we will stop doing the things that affect our atmosphere, and it will take care of itself, our oceans will adjust to normal levels, storms, hurricanes, and tornados will stop destroying our cities, etc. However, I do not live in a fantasy world; I know this will not happen in my lifetime. These changes will not take place overnight, but we can start the ball rolling.
Once good is the majority in the collective consciousness, people will start making better choices. This planet is our responsibility, and calming our thought will do much in the right direction. It will put more God-like thoughts in the collective consciousness and start changing what is happening to our planet.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:26
“Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man’s dominion over the whole earth.” Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. Page 14: 25-28
I find comfort in being a believer of Jesus and trust in Him.
